Overview
Jet Shades products are precision-cut for specific aircraft models. Because aircraft can vary slightly due to age and manufacturing tolerances, minor trimming or adjustment may be required during installation.
Below is a summary of how we handle returns, exchanges, and billing issues. For warranty coverage details, please refer to our Product Warranty.
Change-of-Mind Returns
Because our products are aircraft-specific and made-to-fit, returns are limited. Change-of-mind returns may be accepted within 14 days of delivery if items are uninstalled, unmodified, and in resalable condition. Restocking fees and return shipping responsibilities may apply.
RMAs Required
All approved returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Returns must meet the timeline requirements outlined in the full policy below.

Jet Shades – Returns, Replacements & Chargebacks Policy
At Jet Shades, we’re committed to high-quality, made-to-fit sun protection solutions and clear, fair support when issues arise. Because with the exception of DIY products, our Jet Shades products are designed for specific aircraft models they may require light fitting or adjustment. This policy is designed to keep outcomes consistent and turnaround times fast.
Made-to-Fit Product Nature
Jet Shades products are aircraft-specific, precision-cut solutions. Due to aircraft age, manufacturing tolerances, and individual cockpit variations:
- Trimming or adjustment may be required during installation.
- Installation outcomes can vary depending on technique and aircraft condition.
For this reason, Jet Shades products are not considered “plug-and-play” consumer goods.
Installation-Related Issues & Paid Replacements
If a Jet Shades panel is damaged during installation or requires replacement due to trimming or fit decisions:
- Jet Shades offers replacement panels at a reduced replacement cost
- This enables customers to restore their kit without reordering a full set
Replacement pricing varies by panel type and complexity and will be confirmed before processing.
Returns & Refunds
Eligibility (General)
Because with the exception of DIY products, all Jet Shades products are aircraft-specific and made-to-fit, returns and refunds are limited.
Refunds are generally issued only for:
- Approved warranty claims (see our Product Warranty)
- Fulfilment errors by Jet Shades where a correct replacement is not viable
Refunds are generally not issued for:
- Change of mind (except as described below)
- Installation outcomes
- Products that have been cut, modified, or installed
Return Condition Requirements
If a return is approved, products must be:
- Uninstalled and unmodified
- In resalable condition (unless the return is due to a verified defect)
- Returned with all parts included
Change-of-Mind Returns (Limited)
Jet Shades may accept a limited change-of-mind return when all conditions below are met:
- An RMA is requested within 14 days of delivery.
- Items are uninstalled, unmodified, and in resalable condition.
- If packaging has been opened (but items remain uninstalled/unmodified), a restocking fee may apply (up to 15%).
- Return shipping is paid by the customer.
- Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable.
No change-of-mind returns once installed, trimmed, modified, or damaged.
Return Shipping Costs (Approved Claims)
For approved claims submitted in accordance with our Product Warranty and fulfilment-error guidelines, Jet Shades will cover return shipping as follows (subject to review):
- United States: Jet Shades will provide a prepaid return label.
- International: Jet Shades may cover return shipping up to a reasonable cap or provide an alternative resolution where return shipping is disproportionate.
For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping.
RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) Time Limits
All approved returns require an RMA.
RMAs are time-limited to keep service fast and inventory accurate.
Your RMA will include the correct return address and instructions.
Standard RMA windows (unless otherwise stated in writing):
- RMA ship-by deadline: the return must be shipped within 14 calendar days of the RMA issue date.
- RMA receive-by deadline: the return must be received by Jet Shades within 30 calendar days of the RMA issue date.
If a return is not shipped/received within these windows, the return may be closed and become ineligible for refund.
Chargebacks
Jet Shades will always try to resolve issues quickly and fairly. If you believe there is a billing issue, please contact Customer Support first so we can assist.
Chargeback While Retaining Goods
If a customer files a chargeback while retaining Jet Shades products, this constitutes agreement that:
- The products must be returned immediately upon request, and
- Jet Shades may issue an RMA with required return-by timelines.
If goods are not returned within the RMA time limits, Jet Shades may:
- Re-issue an invoice for the products,
- Reattempt billing where applicable, and/or
- Pursue collection of unpaid goods retained.
Chargeback Review
Chargebacks are reviewed individually. Jet Shades will provide the payment processor/card network with relevant order, delivery, and communication records.
Serialized / Tracked Sets
To ensure quality control, fit support, and accurate service outcomes, Jet Shades may maintain internal tracking for kits and components (including batch, kit identifiers, or other internal references) tied to an order and/or aircraft/customer record.
How to Request Support
If you experience an issue with your Jet Shades product:
- Contact Jet Shades Customer Support via the website or email
- Provide aircraft make, model, order number, and a description of the issue
- Include photos where relevant to help us assess the situation quickly
If you purchased through a dealer, please include the dealer name and proof of purchase. For warranty support, visit our Product Warranty. Alternatively, dealers may also submit claims on your behalf.
Our team will review your request and advise the best resolution, whether that is warranty support, a replacement panel, or further guidance.
